Rehabilitation of Dongjiang Water Mains and Water Mains along Fan Kam Road

The Dongjiang water mains are a major supply of fresh water from mainland China to Hong Kong. The existing water mains were found to have deteriorated after years in service and required rehabilitation. FYFE Asia’s FRP Composite System have passed the vigorous testing required by Water Supplies Department and is proven to be able to strengthen pipes for both fully-structural and semi-structural scenarios. In this project, rehabilitation using Tyfo^® Fibrwrap^® system was carried out to more than 6km of water mains, size ranging from 1200mm to 2300mm diameter

The scope of works included the following:

• Survey for existing pipe conditions.

• Pipe rehabilitation design.

• Installation of the FYFE Asia’s Composite System for pipe rehabilitation.
