This bank building in Johor Bahru, Malaysia is a 3-storey shop lot building. The tremors or vibrations felt by the occupants at the second floor office space was a concern to the building owners and occupants.

Fibrwrap Construction (M) Sdn Bhd (a Subsidiary of FYFE Asia) was engaged to carry out investigation and recommendation for the remedial works. Upon successfully determining the apparent defects in the structural framework, a proposal and remedial works were carried out to completion with minimal or no disruption to the activities of the bank. The areas affected were the general banking hall, VIP premier centers and office areas of the building.

Fibrwrap Construction took on the project as a Main Contractor whose scope involved the following:

• Excavation to construct pad footing at the ground floor.
• Erection of steel columns from the ground floor to the second floor.
• Installation of FYFE Asia Pte Ltd’s FRP Composite System to beams
• Structural crack injection
• Repair to waterproofing defects
• Vibration monitoring instrumentation to the structure
• Protection, removal and reinstatement of all Interior finishes, electrical services and ventilation systems affected by the works.

The work was completed ahead of schedule to the satisfaction of the bank owners.
