Seismic Retrofit to Shopping Mall with TYFO^® Fibrwrap^® Composite Systems

Resting along the ring of fire, Indonesia is well-known for its many volcanoes and frequent earthquakes. During one of the earthquake occurrences, the reinforced concrete beams at the carpark level of this shopping mall in Bali were found to have cracks after the disaster. Immediate action was taken by the management of the mall to engage a qualified consultant to study the condition of the affected beams.

The applicator of PT. Fyfe Fibrwrap Indonesia was contacted to provide the strengthening proposal using the Tyfo^® Fibrwrap^® System. As the mall is still in operation, it is necessary to minimize the disruption to its operation and hence the strengthening using Tyfo^® Fibrwrap^® System was accepted and implemented.
