Structural Upgrading to existing Reinforced Concrete Beams due to Change of Layout at Carrefour Chon Buri Hypermarket using the TYFO^® Fibrwrap^® System

With the growth in the retail market in Thailand, Carrefour has been increasing its market presence with new hypermarkets beyond the capital of the kingdom. A new hypermarket in Chon Buri Thailand is part of the expansion plan of the hypermarket giant.

During the construction of the new hypermarket, there were new changes to the original layout plans of the facility. As such, the reinforced concrete beams at various locations needed to be strengthened to cater to those changes. With tight constraint in the project duration, the main contractor, contacted Fyfe Asia’s approved Tyfo^® applicator in Thailand to propose and carry out the strengthening using the Tyfo^® Fibrwrap® Systems.

Within a short period of 7 days, a strengthening proposal was provided and strengthening work proceeded on site. By providing a prompt response to this strengthening requirement, the applicator and Fyfe Asia gained the confidence and trust of the main contractor and the client. The Tyfo^® UC Carbon Laminates and Tyfo^® SCH Carbon Composites were successfully installed and completed without any delay within the client’s required time-frame.
