In an oil-rich country such as Indonesia, the sight of crude oil pipelines is common. Indonesia’s state-owned petroleum company, Pt. Pertamina, has oil-fields and oil refineries dotted over various parts of this archipelago nation. With all, if not most, of its pipelines made from steel, the problem of corrosion to these pipelines had been an issue long due to be addressed. There were plans to consider replacing these badly damaged pipelines with new pipes but shutting down of the pipelines would have proved too costly. Thus, there had been a search for a cost-efficient and effective solution to this problem.
FYFE Asia’s Composite System was introduced to the technical team of Pt. Pertamina at their plant in Balongan. Without the need to shutdown the pipelines, the FYFE Asia’s Composite System can be installed easily within a short duration. The application of the FYFE Asia’s Composite System to damaged 48-inch diameter sections of pipeline was completed within a few hours to satisfaction of the technical team.
